James Sales Replacement Elementary School is 53,000 SF and is designed for 464 students. The building is two-stories allowing for more land area to accommodate the planned future growth. This school was one of the first of five prototype elementary school designs to be constructed by Franklin Pierce School District.

The main entry is adjacent to a central administration area. The administration is flanked by classroom wings on both sides. The music/multipurpose/gym configuration is adjacent to the administration area in the central core. The music platform, multipurpose room, and gym are designed with operable walls between each space.

These spaces can be opened to each other to maximize seating capacity for large events and community use. The building is zoned so that the classroom areas can be closed off from the more public areas of the building for large events or after-hours activities. Classrooms are organized in grade-level groupings.
