Harvard Elementary is a two story 52,864 SF prototype elementary school for the Franklin Pierce School District. Based on a standard plan for 5 schools Harvard takes residential scale materials on the building’s exterior and infuses pops of color to emphasize horizontally and circulation.

An undulating CMU wainscot provides rhythm along the exterior façade while bright exterior stairs and vestibule draw attention to the building’s points of entry.

On the interior Harvard takes the opportunity to utilize circulation, again, to provide a sense of place. The building’s main feature stair also functions as a seating space for building visitors or a reward space for students.
