The new Spanaway Middle School has two stories, divided up into classroom wings. Each grade level has a separate wing of the school with flexible learning zones.
The new floor plan allowed for rain garden courtyards between the classroom wings, which integrates well with the school’s science curriculum.
In addition, the new Commons space now opens to the front entry plaza creating a well-used indoor and outdoor student gathering space.
