Remodel Religious occupancy to Educational occupancy

Bid Award: $3,549,000

Hope Early Learning Center is a renovation project which took an existing Church and modified the floor plan and exterior character to become a charming and cozy environment for early child education. The Design Team devoted time and attention to carefully plan and considering efficiency in use of spaces, energy and budget. The project also creates a permanent home for the early education program.

The design of indoor and outdoor environments were influenced by nature and neighborhood.  Classrooms feature a ‘learning tree’ with varied themes based on which classroom one enters. Hallways mimic a street scape channeling students to their ‘home’ room.  The playground includes numerous group play stations, offering hands on interactions with nature. Additionally many wall surfaces can be used as playful learning spaces where instructors can teach concepts through play and fun interactive activities.

While Interior utilize soft color palette, fun geometries bring energy and movement to the space which allows children to create and interact with the spaces.

The facility includes 7 classrooms, serving two tracks of 120 students age of 3-5. The program includes daycare and education, health services, outdoor playground, satellite kitchen and staff lounge. Spaces for plug in services such as testing, as Psychologist and learning specialist were also included. Erickson McGovern looks forward to this adaptive reuse serving the Bethel School District for many years to come.
