Ford Middle School –

Building 200

Building 200 is one of eight separate buildings that comprise the Morris Ford Middle School campus. The primary gathering space – a multi-use student commons – can be easily configured to support a variety of activities including food service, performing arts, and District/community workshops. The expanded footprint of the building also houses the music department, a full-service kitchen, custodial office, and bulk storage.

The academic calendar continued during the multi-phase construction program, which included approximately 80% of the original structure being torn down and rebuild to meet the needs of the new facility. Joint occupancy of the site by students, staff, and contractors for the majority of the timeline intensified the construction administration efforts, and also required detailed coordination and phasing.

Building 200 presents a new face to this almost 60 year-old campus and it will serve as an anchor and design standard for future campus redevelopment.
